Today Is International Bull Terrier Day

Hello everyone, CEO Olivia here. Today is April fools day but I’m not fooling about, it’s also International Bull Terrier Day. The Knotty Toys for Good Dogs logo is my HuMom’s Chelsey, who was a beautiful white & brindle bull terrier.

Back in the 1860’s the first Bull Terriers appeared in England. It is believed they are a cross between the Bulldog, the English White Terrier & the Dalmatian.

Today, the Bull Terrier is a much loved family companion. They are known to be extremely affectionate with people, & are noted for a fondness towards young children. HuMom adds that they also have a wonderful sense of humor.

So happy International Bull Terrier Day to all the beautiful “mallet heads” out there.

Remembering Chelsey

J. & Chelsea on a chair together

Hello everyone, CEO Olivia here. Today is a solemn day here at Knotty Toys for Good Dogs. We are remembering the late Chelsey a.k.a. Mona-Beasta. She was a beautiful brindle & white English Bull Terrier who radiated joy. Chelsey & her brother Winston had spent a very long time sheltered at the animal hospital where my huMom worked.  When Chelsea’s brother found his forever home Chelsey was adopted by my huMom & they became best furiends.

Chelsey was well loved in her old stomping grounds around the Queen St. West area of Toronto. She was so popular that one year the locals held a birthday party for her in the Trinity Bellwoods dog park. So many came to celebrate, the party took over the entire park.

HuMom still talks about Chelsey often & I know she still misses her. If you don’t already know, Chelsey is the dog on our logo. She was loved by everyone who knew her. I never got to meet her, but her memory is here, always.

Branding Our Knotty Toys for Good Dogs

Testing our branding iron

Hi everyone, CEO Olivia here. Today I have an update (pupdate?) about our new hemp soft toys.

We really want our toys to be as natural as possible. So when it came time to add our logo on our toys, we had a bit of a problem. Any natural dye we tested didn’t stand up to doggy saliva & became blurry & faded too quickly. Food dye’s are not natural, so they wouldn’t work either. There really wasn’t anything that huMom felt 100% okay about.  An embroidered logo just didn’t feel right either.

Then huMom got an idea. She was joking about “corporate branding” as a literal thing. Branding! As in hot metal? Exactly!

Chelsey head logo branding ironI sniffed about the inter-webs & found a company called, “The Custom Brand Shop“. They were super friendly & did a wooftastic job at creating a brand from our Chelsey head logo.

Our next batch of soft toys is in production & they will be sporting our logo. So you’ll always know it’s a genuine Knotty Toy.
