“Once Upon a Time”

Dot & Jerry Underfoot hunted down today’s artist. What caught their attention about this work was the wagnificently surreal quality of these vintage like pieces & their pawsome animal magnetism.  CEO Olivia here, today we’ve sniffed out the artwork of Netherland artist Femke Hiemstra.

After wanting to be a vet or forest ranger she ended up choosing the arts, following her inner artist to pawsue a career as a freelance illustrator. Her dogstinctive style quickly attracted attention & she has found success as a fine artist, pawcurring an impressive pack of collectors & fans.

Hiemstra’s paintings & drawings are dreamlike & witty, featuring anthropomorphic flora & fauna. She works with acrylics & graphite pencil on various (found) canvases. Her furbulous work has been hung in galleries all across Europe, the US, Japan & Australia.

Let’s take a sniff.

‘Kitty Kaboodles’

‘Les Freres Extraordinaires’

‘Felix De Foret’

‘Snack Spirit’

‘The Fruiters’

‘Primrose Pete’

You can sniff out more of Femke Hiemstra’s pawsome work on her Instagram page or google her name & click on images.  You will be doglighted I pawmise.
