Today’s artist is what they call multidisciplinary & her curriculum vitaehas (cv or resume) is pawnomenal! Just thought I show off some of my learned art lingo.
Artist Anne Lemanski has created a menagerie of wagnificent sculptural pawtraits using a combination of metal armature & hand stitching. Her choice of materials are vintage paper, vinyl, textiles & wood veneer. Anne’s goal is to capture the essence of each creature & object she creates. “I want to evoke something powerful & touching, without being sentimental.” We pawsitively love her work.
Lemanski says her focus has been the complex, symbiotic relationship between humans & animals, highlighting our admiration for animals as symbols, & our exploitation of them to suit our needs. Art is pawriffic that way. It asks of us to take a step back, pawhaps with a different pawspective & to see things from another view.
Let’s have a sniff at what I dug up
SQUIRREL! …close enough
