Gibbs Epilepsy Warrior

 

For those of you who have been fetching our blog post over the years, you nose that I am a 12 year young furbulous dog who has lived with refractory epilepsy since I was 9 months old.  I am a pawfectly healthy & happy  dog who is loved & cared for by my huMom & cat siblings Dot & Jerry Underfoot. If you are new to our blog you can read our post ‘Our CEO Olivia’s Tale‘ which pawsitively needs a pupdate or follow me at ‘Oh, The Life of Olivia‘ on Facebook.  Canine Epilepsy awareness & our Canine Epilepsy Community is dog gone impawtant to us. 

CEO Olivia here today we want to yap about another Canine Epilepsy Warrior named Gibbs who has a wagnificent page on Facebook GIBBS-erish…Making Sense of Canine Epilepsy where he & his huMom Tracy Smith share experiences, resources, support & create a wagnificently warm & welcoming community.  Gibbs huMom also pawffers Wag & Wine Events, a virtual group support meeting every few weeks.  

Gibbs also uses his pawtastic group page ‘GIBBS-erish…Making Sense of Canine Epilepsy‘ to fundraise for our charity of choice The Wally Foundation-Canine Epilepsy. For those who are not furmiliar with TWF they’re a volunteer run non for profit dedicated to assisting families, rescues, shelters & caregivers obtain life saving medications, information, compassionate support, & very much needed community. Currently Gibbs & his huMom  have  a  wooftastic fundraiser for TWF.  

You can pawchase Gibbs Purple Jingle Bells; the four purple jingle bells are $8.  They also have furbulous purple bandanas to purchase. The bandanas are standard sizes & some smaller sizes (all handmade) for $15 each.  All the proceeds go to The Wally Foundation!  My  furiend Ruby of Ruby The Therapy Dog who we are still grieving the loss of, donated & sent a pawfectly beautiful purple banada to me for my 12th Barkday; we love it.  I will always wear it with honor & Ruby in my heart. 
 
Let’s not forget to mention, Gibbs is pawsitively adorable & who doesn’t need more dog in their day. Paw on over & meet my furiend & fellow Epilepsy Warrior Gibbs.

      3. HURRAH Olivia!! Wee so happy you are doin so well.
        So far NO Seezuress this month fore BellaSita….shee was furry close last Sunday butt shee called a frend an they meowed for 2 hourss an BellaSita was OKay!
        Sumtimess BellaSita can talk herself ‘down’ as shee callss it….can Poochiess due that?

      4. Wagnificent! So pleased BellaSita stayed strong.
        HuMom has a protocol that includes ocular compression therapy, frankincense & ice packs. She will also use my cluster buster ‘Keppra’ as a ‘Prevent an Event’ drug. Last month we did all of that & were successful at avoiding a seizure event. Sending pawsitive energy & strength to BellaSita 💜nose nudges💜
