“Feliz Día de los Muertos”

Canine Culture, News

If you felt like someone who has made it over the rainbow bridge just ‘nose nudged’ you or that they were pawsibly near by, it could be because today is the first day of El Día de los Muertos; otherwise known as ‘Day of the Dead’ which is celebrated November 1st & 2nd.  CEO Olivia here to respectfully bark about this celebration where the honored guests are our beloved deceased.

El Día de los Muertos is not a Mexican version of Halloween dogspite both include costumes & pawrades.   During El Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead it is believed the border between the spirit world & the living world dissolves & the souls of the dead awaken & return to the living world to eat, drink, play & dog gone it  pawty!  Favorite toys, foods & other offerings are often left at grave sites or dogsplayed on the ‘ofrendas’  or alter (traditionally built in their homes).  Other decorations are red cockscombs, bright  marigolds, candles & framed pictures of our deceased loved ones.

This year Wally’s Canine Epilepsy Foundation has created an online El Día de los Muertos alter for all of us to remember our loved ones.  WCEF welcomes  us to add a photo(s) & share our beloved furiends name & favorite treat 🦴Wally’s Canine Epilepsy Foundation pawmises to light a candle & send 💜💜💜 to our 🐾🐾🐾🐾  at the Rainbow Bridge.✨🌈✨

Wally’s Canine Epilepsy Foundation is a pawsitively wagnificent organization & our charity of choice.  To pawticipate in their El Día de los Muertos celebrations just paw this link or any of the WCEF links in this post. If you would like to know more about WCEF  paw here to read more.
