Welcome to Friday everyone, CEO Olivia repawting. Today I have sniffed out some pawsome paintings by artist Lisa Ericson. Lisa took her first art class when she was only five. Later she studied art at Yale University as an undergraduate. She now lives in Portland, Oregon.
Ericson’s pawtastic paintings are done in acrylics on wood panels. She uses multiple thin layers of paint to build up the images. Depending on the size & detail, a painting can take anywhere from two weeks to a month on a painting.
Ericson’s ideas are often science-inspired, with a surreal twist. She says, “I think of the animals in my paintings as simultaneously representing the natural world & also reflecting our own human struggles & emotions”.
Let’s paws on these few wooftastic examples.
I found these works pawsitively inspiring.
Have a wooftastic weekend.
