We are pawsitively excited because this coming FriYaY is my 14th Barkday!  Hi CEO Olivia here yapping loudly & proudly about my 14th barkday.  Barkdays are a day of celebration & gratitude; it’ the day you took your first breath! Each year is a gift to you & those who love you.  A barkday is an impawtant & momentous occasion not be be understated. It is a time to celebrate, reflect & give thanks.  Barkdays give us the opportunity to show the love & gratitude for life & all it’s wagnificence.

Celebrating our barkday helps to raise our self-esteem.  When we feel celebrated we feel love & the meaningful role we play in our furmily.  It’s also impawtant to our huMoms & huDads lives.  Barkdays strengthen furmily bonds.  Honoring barkdays help create traditions which are pawsitive no mater what the size of the celebration is.  What is wooftastically impawtant is the sense of being together to celebrate something special. Barkdays also help establish social relationships.  Sharing barkdays with furiends & furmily create a feeling of companionship, kindness & love.  They create furbulous memories which can be pawtastic & pawsitively meaningful for everyone envolved.

For our humans it helps them to have a better pawception of time which is pawsitively impawtant for those who live with canine epilepsy or any  health issue.  You see, when humans 1st learn their pups or kitties have a serious health issues time seems to be a big issue.  Often they fear their time will be shortened due to a health issue but often that is not the cause & barkdays help remind us what is impawtant is present, this moment & the love that is here now.

FriYaY will be a day focused on love & the beauty of life.  We will spend the day in the moment doing whatever seems pawfect in that moment.  There will be snacks, & singing but what is most impawtant is the celebration of love we share.

If you would like to celebrate with us you could do so by donating to our charity of choice, The Wally Foundation ~ Canine Epilepsy.  A generous donation of even $5 can helps a furmily who is challenged by the cost of managing canine epilepsy.  20 $5 donations could help pay for an Epilepsy Warriors phenobarbital or potassium bromide pawscription.  Some pawscriptions like zonisimide which is one of three anti seizure medications I take, cost over $300.  Every 3 months  huMom works hard to come up with the funds it takes to cover my pharmaceutical drugs not to mention my supplements & Vet bills.  It is a struggle for her & we know it’s a struggle for many.  Please nose we do not receive assistance from The Wally Foundation ~ Canine Epilepsy or from any other organization.

The Wally Foundation is a not for profit charity that pawvides financial assistance for qualifying furmily’s of canine epileptics as well as rescue groups to obtain medications. Although officially in Delaware, TWF donates globally. No one should have to choose between food on the table or affording medication or treatments for their epileptic four legger. Further more, no one should have to surrender or worse, euthanize their beloved companion due to a lack of understanding of the disorder, or a lack of resources.
