Meow Now, Jerry Underfoot & Dot here today to remind you that CEO Olivia would be celebrating her 15th Barkday (birthday) this coming Saturday June 21st. We thought it would be purrfect to reflect back on Olivia’s life; especially for anyone who is not familar with it.

Olivia was adopted from a local animal shelter back in February of 2011. Molly as she was known then, had been there for three months. Her first act upon arriving at her new home was to leap on her new huMom’s bed, declaring it hers too.

Three months later Olivia experienced her first seizure; it came in the middle of the night. Having no idea what was happening huMom was terrified. After a Grand Mal seizure Olivia ran about blindly, stumbling into everything for what seemed like an eternity. She was rushed to the vet early that morning & a few days later. Olivia was  tested & diagnosed with Canine Idiopathic Epilepsy.

Most of the time Olivia was just like any other dog. She loved her walks, lounging in her yard or having robust debates with the local chipmunks. Focal seizures were something she experiences from time to time; her eye lids will flutter or her head will flinch but it didn’t seem to interfere with her enjoying every day to the fullest. She used to experience a Grand Mal seizure on an average of every 11 to 22 days; often in clusters.  Before Olivia passed on February 21st she was 2.5 years seizure free.  Each Grand Mal seizure free day was a blessing that we were grateful for.

In spite of her epilepsy Olivia remained a meowsome fursiser, happy little clown, healthy & much loved by me, Dot, huMom & everyone who knew her. Olivia was pawtastic at manipulating huMom with her beautiful eyes & she clearly had a sense of humor we all pawsitively adored. Dot & Olivia had a special bond due to Olivia being her role model when she came to live with huMom at a very early age.  Dot loved to steal food & toss it to Olivia.  My bond with Olivia was more physical.  I loved to lick & nuzzle in for naps with her.  Olivia was a pawsome furiend to Eddy when he came to live with us.  She helped him learn to be a good dog, to feel trust & nose how to be loved.  Me, Dot & huMom feel so meowsomely blessed to have this special soul in our lifes.  Olivia’s love light shines brightly in the hearts  of all who love her.

To celebrate Olivia’s Barkday we are asking for those who are in the pawsition to please consider a $5 or more donation to Wally’s Canine  Epilepsy Foundation.  You can do so by visiting their Facebook page, clicking on the ‘Learn More’ button which will take you directly to their PayPal page or click on this link.   All donations will be pawsitively appreciated🐾💜🐾
