Snoopy!

I was curious who this Snoopy dog was so I did a little snooping (see what I just did?). Turns out he’s a famous cartoon dog. Created by artist Charles M. Schultz, Snoopy was based on a real dog named Spike who lived with Mr. Schultz when he was a boy.

Snoopy first appeared in a comic strip called, “Peanuts” on October 4, 1950, but he didn’t have a name until a month later, on November 10. His owner is a boy named Charlie Brown. Despite Snoopy’s inability to remember Charlie Brown’s name (he thinks of him as “that round-headed kid”), he is steadfastly loyal.

Snoopy is prone to imagining fantasy lives, including being an author & a college student known as “Joe Cool”,  but he is best known as a World War 1 flying ace, wearing an aviator’s helmet, goggles & a scarf.

Snoopy’s best friend & sidekick is a bird named Woodstock. Woodstock speaks in a chirping language that only Snoopy can understand.

On November 2, 2015, Snoopy was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Well that’s very impressive.
