Pawsenting Artist Georgina Warne’s Wagnificent Earthenwear & Porcelain Pieces

Canine Culture

A couple of weeks ago Dot, Jerry Underfoot & I pawsented today’s artist print work in ‘Hoping Into Spring With Artist Georgina Warne’s Pawsome Prints’ with the pawmise to share her earthenware & porcelain pieces the following week but that fell on Purple Day.

We do dog gone hope you enjoy these pieces as much as you enjoyed Georgina Warne’s print work.  Since we already yipped & yapped about Warne’s pawriffic technique in ‘Hoping Into Spring With Artist Georgina Warne’s Pawsome Prints’ we dogcided to jump right in.

Before we do, we want to dogsplain the difference between earthenware,  stoneware & porcelain. Earthenware is derived from clay & features a much more porous surface than stoneware. Additionally, it is fired at a lower temperature & must be glazed or painted before use.  Stoneware is a rather broad term for pottery or other ceramics fired at a relatively high temperature. Stoneware is a type of non-porous ceramic made from stoneware clay that has been fired at a temperature between 2150 and 2330 degrees Fahrenheit. Stoneware often has a thicker build than porcelain. Porcelain is the most durable, expensive & is made from the highest quality of clay.

There you have it.  We pawsitively find it tail wagging fun to learn something new & hope you do too.  So, let’s not doglay any longer & dig into to Georgina’s work.
